More Thunderstorms, Rain Forecast For Hartford/Tolland County

The National Weather Service said the weather forecast for northern Connecticut will change beginning Monday. Here are the new details.

HARTFORD/TOLLAND COUNTY, CT — As the work week begins, northern Connecticut is forecast to see rain and thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The rain is forecast to be light for much of Monday, but late Monday showers and storms are more likely, and the rain and storms continue into Tuesday.

Beginning on Wednesday, sunshine returns and sticks around largely through Sunday. There is a chance for rain showers on Friday afternoon.

Hartford County forecast details via the National Weather Service:

Tonight: Increasing clouds, with a low around 67. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Monday: Showers likely, mainly after 9am. Cloudy, with a high near 79. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Monday Night: A chance of showers before 2am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 2am and 3am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. South wind 8 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 8am and 3pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83. South wind 9 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Monday: Showers likely, mainly between 8am and 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 76. Light south wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Monday Night: A chance of showers before 1am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 1am and 2am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. South wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
