VERNON, CT — A traffic stop led to a drug seizure in Vernon late last week, police said.

Police released a report on the incident Monday.

At 9:06 a.m. Friday, a Vernon officer pulled over a blue 2020 Honda Insight for a traffic violation on Talcottville Road near the Merline Road intersection, according to an arrest report. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered several items consistent with drug sales, according to an arrest report.

According to an arrest report, police seized:

  • 15.1 grams of crack cocaine
  • "Numerous" wax folds containing fentanyl
  • A large knife

The driver, identified as 30-year-old Jesly Ann Vazquez of East Hartford, was taken into custody and charged with the possession of a narcotic substance with the intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle and a plate display violation, records show.

She posted a $100,000 bond and is due in Rockville Superior Court on April 1, records show.
