Police Interrupt Burglary In Vernon
A burglary was thwarted at a home in Vernon, police said.

VERNON, CT — Police interrupted a burglary in the Rockville Section of Vernon Friday night, an arrest report indicates.
At 6:52 p.m. Friday, Vernon police responded to a burglary call at a home on Cherry Street, according to an arrest report. Officers noticed a man on the third floor when they arrived and they contacted the homeowner, who was out of the country at the time, according to an arrest report.
The homeowner said nobody had permission to be inside the dwelling, according to police.

After several commands to exit the home were ignored, police entered the home and arrested the man inside, later identified as a 39-year-old Hector Almodovar, homeless person who frequents Vernon, according to an arrest report.
He was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal trespass and was to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Monday.
