Police In Vernon Find 2 Passed-Out Drivers In 2 Vehicles Over 2 Days In 2 Public Places
Two drunken drivers were taken into custody after being located unresponsive in vehicles in busy areas, Vernon police said.

VERNON, CT — Two drivers were located passed out in their vehicles at public places in Vernon on consecutive days, police said.
At 6:21 p.m. on Aug. 26, Vernon police located a 34-year-old Ashford woman was located passed out behind the wheel of her vehicle at the Route 30 Cumberland Farms.
She observed several signs of impairment after being awakened and then promptly failed field sobriety tests, according to an arrest report.

She was charged with driving under the influence and is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Sept. 8, records show.
At 7:20 p.m. the following day police were notified that a driver, later identified as a 34-year-old woman from Vernon, was sitting behind the wheel of a running vehicle unresponsive, according to an arrest report.

The woman was woken up and she failed sobriety tests, according to an arrest report.
She was charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance (third offense) and the use of drug paraphernalia and has a court date of Sept. 9, police said.
