Presidents Day Prompting Change In Vernon Trash Schedule

VERNON, CT — The Vernon Public Works Department will be closed on Monday, Feb. 19, in observance of Presidents Day. Trash and recycling will not be collected on that day, but instead will be collected the following day — Tuesday Feb. 20 — along with that day's normal collection.

Excess refuse and recycling may be brought to the Vernon Transfer Station free of charge year-round on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.

The Transfer Station will be closed on Sunday, Feb. 18.
