Rockville High School Teams Sweep NCCC Track And Field Championships
The Rams captured 13 individual event victories to easily outdistance the fields at the annual North Central Connecticut Conference meet.

COVENTRY, CT — Thirteen individual event victories and a half-dozen runner-up placements provided Rockville High School the firepower to easily outdistance all competitors in both the boys and girls divisions of the North Central Connecticut Conference track and field championships Tuesday at Coventry High School.
The boys compiled 189 points on the strength of eight victories and five second-place showings to handily top runner-up Ellington's 118. Stafford was third with 89.5.
Jacob Owusu was a double winner for the Rams, taking first place in both the long jump and triple jump. Other Rockville champions were Devant Bariffe (200), Emmett Kristoff (800), Nehamyah Brisco (shot put), Thomas Bannon (javelin), Nathan Fauteux (pole vault) and the 4x400 relay team of Kristoff, Matthew Woodward, Alexander Walden and Keith Schmidt.

Runner-up placements were attained by Bariffe (100), Woodward (800), Jonathan Kasamba (shot put), Bannon (discus) and the 4x800 relay team of Mikey Scheffler, Andrew Carangelo, Youness Roussid and Bennett Zess.
On the girls' side, the Rams amassed 111 points to 85 for Canton and 71 for Suffield.

Event winners were Abigail Fisher (100), Carly Wujcik (800), Aaliyah Tucker (triple jump) and a pair of relay teams: 4x100 (Alexia Diaz, Mayamiko Martin, Jeanna Kasamba, Leah Owusu) and 4x400 (Diaz, Martin, Gabriella Montano, Wujcik). Melody Rowe-Cary placed second in the 200 meters.

Both squads will next compete Saturday in the Class MM championships at Willow Brook Park in New Britain, beginning at 11 a.m.
