VERNON, CT — A motorcycle rider is facing several charges for high-speed shenanigans on a busy road in Vernon, police said.

Police released details of the March 10 incident Friday.

At 6:57 p.m. Monday, police encountered a motorcycle rider traveling at a high rate of speed while heading north on Talcottville Road, according to an arrest report. The rider was also violating "several other motor vehicle laws," according to an arrest report.

He was seen again a short time later, and again sped away from an attempted stop.

The 24-year-old was eventually tracked down at his home in Ellington and charged with:

  • Driving while under suspension
  • Traveling unreasonably fast
  • Disobeying the signal of an officer
  • Failure to drive in the proper lane
  • The improper use of a plate
  • Driving an unregistered vehicle
  • Driving without the proper insurance
  • Interfering with police (two counts)
  • Driving a motorcycle without the proper endorsement
  • A traffic signal violation

He is due in Rockville Superior Court on March 25, records show.
