State Police Intercept Wrong-Way Driver In Vernon
A suspected drunken driver was caught heading the wrong way in Vernon, state police said.

VERNON, CT — State police intercepted a wrong-way driver in Vernon over the weekend.
According to an arrest report, at 6:19 p.m. on Saturday, a state police trooper saw a black BMW head the wrong way on a one-way street in the Rockville section of town.
The trooper caught up with the driver on Mountain Street and, after the driver initially resisted attempts to be taken into custody, he finally submitted to arrest, according to the report.

The driver, a 45-year-old Vernon man, was charged with driving the wrong way on a one-way street, interfering with police, driving under the influence, driving while under suspension and driving an unregistered vehicle.
