Vernon Man Involved in Ellington Crash
The crash occurred early Thursday morning and sent one person to the hospital via LifeStar helicopter.

At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, police responded to a serious accident in Ellington.
A22-year-old Rockville man was traveling westbound along Snipsic Street when he lost control of the vehicle, crossing the solid double yellow line. The vehicle then collided with two separate utility poles along the south roadway edge before rolling over and coming to a rest on its roof.
At this time, the man fled the scene on foot while an injured passenger, a 19-year-old Stafford man, remained. Due to the extent of man’s injuires, he was transported to Hartford Hospital via LifeStar helicopter.

Two state police K9 teams were then utilitezed in conjunction with the assistance of neighboring Vernon Police Department in an effort to locate the driver of the vehicle.
As a result, the man was located at a residence on Mountain Street in Vernon, approximately one mile from the scene. He was then transported to Rockville General Hospital for injuries sustained during the collision.
