Vernon Officials To Make Morning Decision On Virus Test Kit Plan
If they arrive in time, Vernon will distribute coronavirus test kits on Thursday.

VERNON, CT — If they arrive in time, Vernon officials will be distributing a limited number of at-home coronavirus tests Thursday.
Local officials said they will be making a decision by 8 a.m. on whether to proceed with the distribution program.
As of early Wednesday evening, the state's allotment was sitting on a cargo plane in Los Angeles for an overnight flight to Connecticut, state and local officials said.

The distribution point — if the tests arrive on time — is scheduled to be is Rockville High School, 70 Loveland Hill Road.
The program is slated to begin at noon. The state is providing Vernon with 3,780 test kits, so town officials said the test kits are intended for people who have an immediate need for testing due to having COVID-19 symptoms or exposure to someone who has COVID-19. Test kits are limited and will be distributed based on need up to a maximum of three per household, officials said.

To receive a test kit, residents will be required will have to show an ID proving residency. For additional information, visit the Town of Vernon website, www.vernon-ct.gov.
