Vernon Officials Seeking Input On American Rescue Plan Funds

VERNON, CT — The town of Vernon has received federal funds through the American Rescue Plan Act and is now seeking public input on how to use money.

The funds — about $8.6 million in all — can be used for the following purposes:

• Support for public health expenditures, such as funding COVID-19 mitigation efforts, medical expenses,
• behavioral healthcare, and certain public health and safety staff.
• Addressing negative economic impacts caused by the public health emergency, including economic harm to
• workers, households, small businesses, impacted industries and the public sector.
• Replacing public sector revenue lost due to the pandemic.
• Investing in clean drinking water, supporting vital wastewater and storm water infrastructure, and expanding
• Broadband internet access.
