VERNON, CT — Winter parking rules have taken effect in Vernon.
Parking bans will go into effect whenever plows are out removing snow. They will be announced as they are issued.

On-street parking is prohibited between 3:30 a.m. 5 A.M. from Dec. 1 through March 31.
A town ordinance requires all property owners to clear snow from sidewalks.

"This is especially important to keep our students and pedestrians safe as they travel to and from school," police said.
