Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Hartford, Tolland County

HARTFORD/TOLLAND/WINDHAM, CT — The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory from 7 p.m. Friday until 10 a.m. Saturday for snow and icing concerns. There is also a chance for some light snow accumulation on Sunday too.

The weather service said for late tonight and early Saturday, "Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch."

"Plan on slippery road conditions," the weather service adds. "The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute. The potential exists for accumulating snow later Sunday into Monday with the best chance across the interior."

This Afternoon: Mostly sunny. Highs around 40. North winds around 5 mph, becoming southeast around 5 mph.

Tonight: Rain, a chance of snow, freezing rain and sleet in the evening, then rain, snow with a chance of freezing rain after midnight. Snow and sleet accumulation around an inch. Ice accumulation of up to a tenth of an inch. Lows in the lower 30s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.

Saturday: Rain with a chance of freezing rain in the morning, then partly sunny in the afternoon. Ice accumulation around a trace. Highs in the mid 40s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Gusts up to 25 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear. Lows in the mid 20s. North winds 5 to 10 mph. Gusts up to 20 mph in the evening.

Sunday: Rain likely. Highs in the upper 30s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60 percent.

Sunday Night: Snow and rain likely. Near steady temperature in the lower 30s. Chance of precipitation 70 percent.

Monday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of snow. Highs around 40. Chance of snow 50 percent.
