For many years, Mary Mushinsky has earned a perfect 100% rating on CTLCV’s Environmental Scorecard.

2022 was a groundbreaking year for climate action at the state Legislature. These wins would not have been possible without lawmakers like Mary Mushinsky, who worked hard to pass clean air legislation and reduce polluting emissions.

Mary Mushinsky has been at the forefront of all major efforts involving water in our State. From healthy rivers, wetlands, and water conservation to the State Water Plan—Mary has consistently fought for decades to protect this precious resource. She guided the passage of our state’s Aquifer Protection Act and our Endangered Species Act.

As former Chair of the Environment Committee, she wrote the state's original solid waste management legislation that included mandatory recycling, regional waste sheds, waste to energy facilities and state procurement of recycled content products. She played a central role in crafting our original recycling law, the “Bottle Bill,” and is currently working hard to solve our growing waste management crisis.

“Mary Mushinsky’s legacy of commitment to our environment is legendary. She is an effective leader and many of our protection laws would not be in place today without her. If re-elected, she will continue to serve her district well and get things done at the Capital.” said Lori Brown, CTLCV Executive Director.

To receive CTLCV’s endorsement, all candidates must have completed a Survey on the Environment. Endorsements are issued based on candidates’ responses, voting records in our Scorecard, and demonstrated leadership on specific issues.
