Obituary: Andrew J. Mezzi, 78, of Wallingford

Andrew worked many years as a real estate agent, most notably for Mezzi Realty. He loved baseball and spending time with family and friends.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Andrew J. Mezzi, 78, of Wallingford, passed away on October 20, 2021 at The Connecticut Hospice in Branford. His family was by his side.

Andrew lived in Wallingford his whole life where he worked as a car salesman and also as a real estate agent who then became a real estate broker and was the proprietor of Mezzi Realty.

A graduate of Lyman Hall High School, he served as President of his class and later went on to receive his Bachelor Degree from the University of New Haven.

Andrew loved baseball and people knew him to be the only guy that could hit a homerun with his left hand and his right hand!

Andy coached his son Jimmy’s baseball team for several years. Andrew loved his family, especially his granddaughter Leah!

Andy enjoyed reading books, riding his bike, hiking, the beach and spending time with his friends. Andy will be missed very much!

He leaves his daughter, Katherine Mezzi; his granddaughter, Leah LeBarge; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Luis Rivera; and his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Dorothy Mezzei. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his two sons, Andrew T. Mezzi; and James F. Mezzi; his parents, Thomas and Mary (Toth) Mezzi; his brothers, Robert Mezzie and Alex Mezzie; and his sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Raymond Zyzo.

A Funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 17th at 10 am at the First Congregational Church of Wallingford, 3 South Main St.

Interment will follow in Center Street Cemetery in Wallingford.
