Obituary: Barry M. Chandler, 67, of Wallingford

Barry, an avid hoops fan, served as an announcer broadcasting Villanova basketball games. He also worked in T.V sales nationally.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Barry M. Chandler, 67, of Wallingford, died February 17, 2021, at MidState Medical Center.

He was born February 1, 1954, a son of the late Walter and Anna (Fuller) Chandler and was a graduate of Xavier H.S. and Villanova University.

He went into a life long career in Cable T.V. Sales in Philadelphia, Florida and lastly Bridgeport for Cox Cable where he was a top salesman for years.

He enjoyed traveling, having visited Ireland and Brazil and annually traveled to the Montreal Jazz Festival.

Barry loved basketball and was an announcer for Villanova basketball games at a local station.

He is survived by his brother, Brian Chandler of Wallingford; his sister, Bonnie (Mrs. Arthur) McDonald of Durham; his nephew, John McDonald (Catharine) of Tolland, Robert McDonald of Meriden; his niece, Sherie Caballero of Durham; his great nieces, Evelyn Caballero, Kassandra Caballero, Addison McDonald, and Heaven Caballero; and his great nephews, William, Declan and Hudson McDonald, Oscar Caballero and Michael White.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Tuesday, February 23rd, from 5 to 6:30 pm. A service will follow in the funeral home at 6:30 pm.

COVID precautions will be followed and masks required. Interment will be private in St. John Cemetery.
