Obituary: Daniel Lawler Murphy, 72, of Wallingford
Daniel, a devoted family man and friend to many, was known for his generous heart, willingness to help anyone and his warm smile.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Daniel Lawler Murphy, 72, of Wallingford, died Monday, October 18, 2021, at Masonicare Health Center, after a short but courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Daniel was born June 13, 1949, a son of the late Henry and Agnes (Lawler) Murphy and was a graduate of Francis T. Maloney H.S.
He attended carpentry school and used his skills to build his family’s home in East Hampton as well as the Button Mill Farm where he raised and bred cattle and pigs.
He enjoyed showing his Oxen Duke and Dutch at local fairs. Dan had a long career in truck driving, having worked for Bailey’s Express, Suzio Concrete and Carlson Oil. Later in life he also was employed by Mystic River Marina, Galati Yacht Marina in Florida and Unholtz-Dickie Corp.
He was a member of the Teamsters. He loved spending time with his family, boating, traveling to Anna Marie Island, FL, rooting for the Washington Football Team, NASCAR and camping with family and friends. He also spent his younger years playing the snare drum with Washington Park, Yalesville and St. Paul’s Fife and Drum Corps.
He was predeceased by his first wife and the mother of his children, Donna (Borek) Murphy, and his second wife, Lauri (Cossette) Murphy; as well as his in-laws, George and Eleanor (Mancino) Borek and Nelson Cossette.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Colleen and Steve Tondalo, Bonnie and Paul Narducci, and Shannon and Guy Coleman; his grandchildren, Jonathan Narducci, Caprice Tondalo, Raymond Paskiewicz, Delaney Coleman and Preston Coleman; his brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Barbara Murphy, Bill and Sandy Murphy, and Kerry and Denise Murphy; his brother-in-law, James Borek and his wife Patricia; his sisters -in-law, Lori Paul and her husband Kevin, and Cynthia Lemieux and her husband Gerald, in-laws Lorraine Tiso and Donna Cossette and step-daughter Tara Pucci; several nieces and nephews; his dear friends, Ray and Karen Gola, and Donna and the late Richard Busa; and his furry companion, Susie.
His generous heart, willingness to help anyone and his warm smile will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Saturday, Nov. 6th, from 10am to 12:30pm. A service will follow in the funeral home at 12:30pm.
Interment will be private.
