Obituary: Donato Pepe Jr., 87, of Wallingford

Donato enjoyed a successful career in the banking industry. He was a gifted musician, devoted family man and proud U.S. Army veteran.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Donato Pepe Jr., 87, of Wallingford, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at MidState Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Silvia) Pepe.

Donato was born in New Haven, February 28, 1934, a son of the late Donato and Rose Pepe Sr. and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was employed as a Head Teller in the banking industry, eventually retiring from Bank of America.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church and was a gifted musician who enjoyed playing the piano.

In addition to his wife Joan, he is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel Pepe and Tina Louise Pepe, and Steven and Diana Pepe; his grandchildren, Louis Pepe, Martino Pepe, Joseph Pepe, Eva Lana Pepe, Daniel Pepe, Heather Fleury, Samantha Brangievo and Joshua Pepe; and his great grandchildren, Phoenix Fleury and Logan Pepe.

He was predeceased by his sister, Angelina Jaworski and his brother, Anthony Pepe.

Donato’s family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Friday, December 17th from 11 am to 12:30pm when the funeral cortege will procced to Our Lady of Fatima Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1pm.

Interment with military honors will follow in St. John Cemetery.
