Obituary: Joan Mary Piomvino Mastrantonio, 86, of Wallingford
Joan, always loving and devoted to her family and friends, enjoyed bowling, poker and going to the casino.
WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Washington Memorial Funeral Home) Joan Mary Piomvino Mastrantonio, 86, of Wallingford, formerly of North Haven died peacefully on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Midstate Medical Center, Meriden with her loving family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph A. Mastrantonio, Sr. Joan was born in Canaan, CT on September 28, 1934, a daughter of the late John and Rose DeSantis Piomvino, and had resided in North Haven for most of her life before moving to Wallingford 14 years ago.
Joan loved the Wallingford Senior Center, and all of her friends there. She loved to bowl, play poker, and especially loved going to the casinos.
Joan is survived by her daughter Pamela Mazzone of Cheshire, her son Joseph A. Mastrantonio, Jr. and his wife Anita of Hamden, five grandchildren, Christopher Mazzone and his wife Ann, Nicole, Matthew and Andrew Mazzone, and Vincent Carrera and his wife Gabriella, and two great grandchildren, Paige and Parker Mazzone. She was predeceased by five sisters, Mary Cognata, Dorothy DeCavage, Helen Field, Catherine Kowaleski and Lillian Mantovani, and one brother, Frank Piomvino.
Funeral services for Joan are private, and there will be no calling hours.
The Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven has been entrusted with arrangements.
