WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Johanne Patricia (Specyalski) Nolan, 77, wife of the late James F. Nolan Jr., and most recently of Wallingford, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Monday October 18, 2021.

She was born on June 21,1944, in Mildale, CT to the late Adolph and Jennie (Ciss) Specyalski. She was her Dad's birthday present.

Johanne graduated Southington High School in 1962 and married in 1964. She attended and graduated hairdressing school and worked in that profession until her husband's death in 1980.

She began working part time in medical records with Appell Drug in Plainville, staying through many transfers of ownership. She became medical records supervisor, retiring in 2006.

Johanne loved reading, sewing and crafting, where last year she sewed masks for staff and residents of Masonic Home and continued these beloved things until December of 2020.

In addition to her hobbies, she loved going on all day shopping trips with her daughter when she could. Recently, her daughter's fiancé, whom Johanne adored, began taking her on various shopping excursions where he would lovingly tease Johanne about her "driving" of the motorized carts.

She was so proud that she had learned how to online shop (taught by her VERY patient daughter) too, keeping Amazon, Wal-Mart and Shop Rite in business on her own.

Johanne is survived by her beloved and loving daughter Maureen Nolan and her fiancé Michael-Scott Druckenmiller, both of Waterbury. She also leaves many in-laws including: Kathy and Andy Wydra of New Britain; Jacqueline and Bob Flowers of Bristol; Claire and Keith Barrington of Plainville; Robert Nolan of Leavenworth Kansas; Brian Nolan of Bristol who was also her beloved Godson; Timothy Nolan of Bristol and Richard Nolan.

She also leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins, including Patty Rametta who frequently called and visited with her.

Johanne was predeceased by her sisters-in-law Patricia Nolan Golias and Judith Nolan; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law James F. Nolan Sr. and Josephine (Pellegrini) Nolan.

Johanne leaves two close friends Roberta and Mary as well.

The family would like to thank Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford for making the last 7 years of Johanne's life fulfilling.

They also thank Hospital for Special Care for taking great care of her these last few months. They greatly appreciate it.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 6th at 11 am at Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley St., New Britain. (Section 18-A). Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home.
