Obituary: John R. Wambolt, 62, formerly of Wallingford
John, known for his sense of humor and kindness, was a passionate cook. He was loving and devoted to his wife, family and his 'fur babies'.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) John R. Wambolt, of Wallingford, made his transition to be with the Lord, while at his home on Saturday, February 13, 2021. He enjoyed 62 years on this earth.
He shared 23 beautiful, loving years with his wife Lori.
John was loved by his son, Michael Wambolt of Wallingford.

He has 2 brothers, William Wambolt Jr., and Thomas Wambolt, of Wallingford; his nieces and nephews, Kendall and William Wambolt III of Meriden; Adam Wambolt of Hamden; Zoe Wambolt of Wallingford and his great nieces Autumn and Grace.
He is predeceased by his sister-in-law Donna Misenti and brother-in-law Andrew Cricco, Jr.

John was born in New Haven, January 6, 1959, a beloved son of the late William and Susan Wambolt. He graduated from Lyman Hall High School in 1977. He was a very accomplished man who loved being with people.
His sense of humor and his kindness was known by all who encountered him.
His love of cooking led him to own and operate 2 successful restaurants in Meriden and Wallingford (3 Corners Deli and Bradley Diner). After relocating to Florida in 2005, he opened his own charter fishing business in the Florida Keys, “Patch Man Doo” operating until 2017.
He was loyal, generous and kind to all who knew him.
He loved his friends like family. Since he was 12 years old, he made sure to see all the best Rock ’n’ Roll concerts within a 100-mile radius!
His greatest joy was spending time with his family especially being a Dad to his “fur babies” Gigi and Molly.
His life will be remembered and honored on Saturday, February 20th, from 10 am to 1 pm at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext. COVID precautions will be followed and masks required. The burial will be private.
