Obituary: Joseph F. Lopez, 89, of Wallingford

Joe, a dedicated employee of GE for many years, was known for his generous of heart, devotion to his family and loyalty to friends.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Joseph F. Lopez, 89, of Wallingford, formerly of Cheshire, died, Saturday, January 8, 2022. He was the loving husband of the late Lucille Jane (Conmee) Lopez.

Joseph was born in Cohoes, NY, on October 12, 1932, and was a graduate of Rollins College. He served in the U.S Navy during the Korean War and went onto work for General Electric for many years.

Joseph is survived by his daughter Danna L. Lopez of Westfield, NJ; and his son Daniel R. Lopez of Wallingford.

He was predeceased by his son David J. Lopez.

“Joe” was a loving father, partner to Lucy and a loyal friend to many. He enjoyed travel and cooking and loved the holiday season.

He was an avid boater and enjoyed taking his friends and family out for an afternoon on the sound.

He was generous of heart and always willing to help a stranger.

His devotion to his family was evident in everything he did.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Monday, January 17th, from 10 until 11am.

A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 11 am. Interment will be in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery directly after the service.

A remembrance reception will take place at J. Carvers Restaurant, 179 Center St., Wallingford, CT at 1pm.
