Obituary: Mark Semrau, 69, of Wallingford
Mark was known as outgoing and friendly. An avid wine connoisseur and dog lover, he co-owned the Wine Cellar in Wallingford.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Mark Semrau, 69, of Wallingford, husband of 41 years to Amy Humphries, passed away peacefully, December 20, 2021 at his home with his wife by his side.
He was born in Meriden on March 15, 1952, a son of the late Walter and Barbara (Benson) Semrau. He has a sister, Rebecca Durant and was predeceased by his brother, Peter.
He graduated from Lyman Hall High School in 1969. He worked at Choate Rosemary Hall buildings and grounds, various liquor stores, and co-owned the Wine Cellar on Rembert St. in Wallingford.
Mark was passionate about wine and dogs. He was instrumental in opening the Bert and Harry Subkowsky Bark Park in Wallingford.
Mark was friendly and outgoing, never hesitating to meet and talk with people wherever he went. He enjoyed friends, food, and wine as well as gardening, kayaking, and time with his many cats and dogs over the years.
In addition to wife Amy, he leaves behind his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roger and Theresa Humphries of Killingworth and brother-in-law, Rodney Thomas of Madison as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Masonicare Home Health and Hospice.
No celebration of life is planned at this time.
