Obituary: Mary E. Torelli, 76, of Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Mary E. Torelli, 76 years old, of Wallingford, CT, passed away on April 16th, 2021, after a brief illness.

Mary was born in Meriden, CT, on November 26th 1944, a daughter of the late Alphonse and Edna (Santillo) Torelli.

She attended Wallingford schools and graduated from S.C.S.U. with a degree in Teaching. Mary taught at Hanover School in South Meriden where she retired after 40 dedicated years of teaching.

In her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her brother John at Chris' Restaurant.
Mary enjoyed playing Bingo at Zandri’s and was an avid sports fan.

She was a member of the Libero Pensiero Society of Wallingford where she organized the yearly Toy Drive to benefit the Wallingford Day Care.

Mary is survived by her brothers, John Torelli (Phyllis) and Albert Torelli (Joanne); her dear niece, Lisa Torelli; nephew, Michael Torelli (Meagan), their children; and many cousins.

Mary’s family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Tuesday, April 20th from 4 to 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 am, directly at Most Holy Trinity Church.

Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery. COVID precautions will be followed and masks required at all services.
