Obituary: Nicholas J. Ginolfi, 70, of Wallingford
Nick, a devoted family man and sports enthusiast, worked as an engineer and programmer at AT&T for 40 years.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Nicholas J. Ginolfi, 70, of Wallingford, loving husband of the late Barbara D. (Muller) Ginolfi, passed away peacefully, Monday, September 6, 2021, at MidState Medical Center in Meriden.
Nicholas was born in Stamford, CT, June 26, 1951, a son of the late Felix and Julia (Radocy) Ginolfi. Nick graduated from J.M. Wright Technical School with a focus on electronics in 1969 prior to achieving his bachelors in electronic engineering from the Bridgeport Engineering Institute.
Nick had been employed by AT&T (formally SNET) as an engineer and programmer for 40 years, until his retirement in 2010.
Among family and friends Nick will fondly be remembered for two things: his unwavering devotion to his family, and his love of wolves. (A sentiment shared by the love of his life, Barbie.) Previously Nick had acted as caregiver for both his wife and mother, showing them unconditional love and support throughout their most difficult days.
As a father, Nick was second to none. From coaching little league to attending every after-school activity – Nick was always there. From transforming the garage into a roller-skating rink to performing spot-on cartoon character impressions on demand, he would do whatever it took to make his kids happy.
Nick was an avid sports enthusiast, and loved “his” New York Yankees and New York Giants. He would love to give friends and family daily analysis and updates to the current status of both teams. Of course, if each team was not contending for a World Series Championship or a Super Bowl, in Nick’s words, they “sucked”.
In his later years Nick found great joy in taking annual trips with his family to the white mountains of New Hampshire. Although he seemed to be at peace with the beautiful scenery, he seemed to enjoy Clark’s Trading Post the most.
We have never seen him so happy when he was watching the bear shows, the acrobats, and of course telling the Wolfman to “scram you crazy old goat”. Family trips to New Hampshire will never be the same without our Wolfman.
Nick is survived by his son, Christian P. Ginolfi and his wife Kelly of Haverhill, MA; his daughter, Nicole Ginolfi and her fiancé Mike Tull of Wallingford; two grandchildren, Christian and Bella Ginolfi; his two brothers, Phil Ginolfi of Arizona and John Ginolfi of Danbury; and his nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home. For online condolences visit: www.wallingfordfh.com.
