Obituary: Rose Marie B. (Curcio) Lumbra, 87, of Wallingford

Rose, affectionately called the "Casino Queen", worked as an Avon Representative for 46 years.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home): Rose Marie B. (Curcio) Lumbra, 87, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 26, 2021. She was the loving wife of the late Clifton Lumbra Jr.

She was born in Union City, N.J., September 28, 1933, a daughter of the late Anthony and Blanche (Lavin) Curcio. She met her husband Clifton while waitressing and spent 35 years happily married raising six children.

She was an Avon Representative for 46 years and was affectionately called the “Casino Queen”.
She will be dearly missed by her four daughters, Tammie Cadett, Susan Lumbra and her husband Jorge Fontoura, Tracy (Mrs. Michael) Napierkowski and Lisa Maiorino; her two sons, Clifton Lumbra, and Craig Lumbra and his wife April; 17 grandchildren, five great grandchildren (with one more on the way); her brothers, Tony Curcio, and Ronnie Curcio and his wife Harriet; his sister-in-law, Georgine (Mrs. Lawrence) Curcio; many nieces and nephews; the whole Lumbra family and many close friends.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Dominic and Lawrence Curcio; her son-in-law, Michael Napierkowski; her grandson, Christopher Lumbra; and her sister-in-law, Ann Curcio.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Tuesday, March 30th, from 4 to 7 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 am in the funeral home.

Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery. COVID precautions will be followed and masks required.
