Obituary: Vincent J. DeMatties Sr., 74, of Wallingford
Vincent worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a Letter Carrier in North Haven for 40 years and cruising in his 1988 Mustang.
WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Vincent J. DeMatties Sr., 74, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Monday, March 15, 2021.
He is survived by his loving wife, Alberta M. (Piscitelli) DeMatties; his son, Vincent J. DeMatties II; his daughter, Julia F. Goodmaster and her husband Jason; his grandchildren, Hailey and Leah; his brother, Ronald DeMatties; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Rocco and Antoinette (Constantinople) DeMatties; his brother, Rocci and sister, Maria.

He was born in New Haven, May 11, 1946 and retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he was a Letter Carrier in the town of North Haven for 40 years.
Prior to that he worked alongside his father at Brown and Thomas Cadillac for several years. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, grand puppies, taking his 1988 Mustang to cruise nights, traveling with his family and going to flea markets.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Sunday, March 21, from 2 to 5pm.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 1pm at St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. COVID precautions will be followed and masks required.
