Obituary: William H. Brooks, 73, of Yalesville
Bill, known as the "Lockout Specialist", owned and operated Brooks Emergency Locksmith Services for many years.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) William H. Brooks, 73, of Yalesville, husband of Peggy (Hobbs) Brooks, passed away September 5, 2021, at MidState Medical Center in Meriden.
Bill was born in Hartford of September 25, 1947, the son of the late Louis and Barbara (Griffin) Brooks Fitton.
Bill owned and operated Brooks Emergency Locksmith Services since 1987. He was known as the “Lockout Specialist”. He would like to thank his many “Drivers”, who helped him accomplish his mission.
Although blindness took his sight at an early age, Bill achieved many goals, such as learning to operate his “talking” computer and earning his HAM radio license – KB1SIN. Bill also spent many a “storm” and many weekends at the Civil Defense Headquarters in Meriden.\
In addition to his wife, Peggy, he is survived by his aunt Lorraine Dube; his cousins, Harriet and Kevin Reilly and their children, Tom and Irene Keithan and their children; as well as many more cousins.
He will also be missed by his mother-in-law, Barbara Hobbs; his brothers-in-law, Wayne Hobbs and his wife Cheryl, and Dale Hobbs and his wife Claire and their families.
His family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext. on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 9 am until 11 am. His funeral service will follow at 11 am in the funeral home.
Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to: the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, Inc., 103 Vision Way, Bloomfield, CT 06002.
