Planet Swirl, A Frozen Yogurt Shop, To Open In Wallingford This Month

Yet another frozen yogurt shop is coming to Wallingford, this one at 1263 South Broad Street.

Planet Swirl, a self-service frozen yogurt shop, is expected to open on South Broad Street by the end of the month, according to The Record Journal. The store is owned by Babur and Mahwish Babur, who said they opened the store because of its wide appeal, according to The Journal.

“The reason why we went with a frozen yogurt shop is because it appeals to all ages,” Mahwish Babur told The Record Journal. “We really believed in this franchise. It’s not just a frozen yogurt shop where you go and grab a cup of yogurt and go. It’s more of a safe and secure place for teenagers.”

There have been several frozen yogurt shops that have opened up in Wallingford recently. They include GoGo FroYo Frozen Yogurt Lounge at 6 North Main Street, Froyolicious Frozen Yogurt at 994 North Colony Road and Kiwi Spoon at 736 North Colony Road, according to The Record Journal.

“I’ve noticed it here in Wallingford,” Doreen DeSarro, Wallingford's Economic Development Commission’s business recruiter, told The Record Journal. “I’m guessing the reason for all of this has to be because of health reasons.”
