Police: New Haven Group Assaults Wallingford Man, Steals His Scooter

Friday was a bad day for Brooks Macquarrie.

Friday, a Wallingford man was assaulted by a group of about five or six New Haven teenagers, who also stole the scooter he was riding on.

The New Haven Register reports that Brooks Macquarrie was parked at a red light on his red scooter on New Haven's Goffe Street Friday when he saw a group of five or six black male teenagers rushing to him. The next thing he remembers, he was lying in a bed in Yale-New Haven Hospital.

The group of teens fractured two of his ribs and his right eye socket, broke his nose, caused him to get 31 stitches and eight staples in his scalp and stole his scooter, while leaving behind his wallet and gold chain, according to the newspaper. The group of teens are still at large but the scooter has since been recovered.
