The training is presented by the Wallingford and Cheshire police departments.
WALLINGFORD / CHESHIRE — The Wallingford and Cheshire police departments are offering self-defense classes for women in both communities in July.
“RAD (Rape Aggression Defense) training is a self-defense program designed for women,” Wallingford police wrote in a post on Facebook. “It focuses on risk awareness, prevention, reduction, and avoidance, progressing to hands-on defense techniques. The program emphasizes empowering women to take an active role in their own self-defense and personal safety.”
The training is for girls and women ages 13 and up. Girls under 18 must be accompanied by a female guardian, according to police.
