The Wallingford Mayoral Race Is Set: Zandri Vs. Dickinson

Democrat Jason Zandri will try to unseat Wallingford Mayor William W. Dickinson, Jr., a 30-year incumbent seeking his 16th-term.

This week, the Wallingford mayoral race was officially set, with Democrat Jason Zandri set to take on Wallingford Mayor William Dickinson, Jr., a 30-year incumbent seeking his 16th term.

Earlier this week the Wallingford Democratic Town Committee nominated Zandri as its candidate for mayor this November, according to The Record-Journal. Zandri, who chastised Dickinson for allowing taxes to increase by 45 percent since 2005, said he will modernize the town's government.

Dickinson was also nominated this week for his 16th term, but by Wallingford's Republican Town Committee, according to the newspaper. As part of his acceptance speech, The Journal reports that Dickinson performed a personalized version of "Rose Tattoo", a song by Dropkick Murphys.
