U.S. Commerce Secretary Visits Wallingford's APS Technology

On Tuesday, Penny Pritzker visited the Wallingford business to learn more about exporting.

On Tuesday, U.S. Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker visited Wallingford's APS Technology as part of her effort to increase the country's exports.

The New Haven Register reports that Pritzker went to APS for her "listening tour," which is part of her goal to increase the nation's exports. APS was a perfect fit, as the business earns 85 percent of its revenues by exporting its sophisticated equipment for oil exploration to other countries.

“This kind of precision manufacturing is what America needs to be known for,” Pritzker told the newspaper. “Our goal is to facilitate and make it easier (to export), to get the obstacles out of the way.”
