Woman Charged With 37 Counts Of Animal Cruelty: Wallingford Police
The woman was arrested on a warrant, according to police.
WALLINGFORD, CT — A woman was arrested Thursday on 37 counts of animal cruelty in connection with an investigation that started in February, according to police.
Police said the Wallingford Animal Control initially received a complaint of possible animal abuse on Feb. 23, 2023, and police later got involved.
Officers responded to the 200 block of Benham Avenue and found 37 mixed breed dogs living in the garage in what animal control determined to be “poor conditions,” according to police.

A search-and-seizure warrant was conducted at the home on Aug. 30, and police said an arrest warrant was secured for 69-year-old Judith Godek.
Godek turned herself in on Oct. 10 and was charged with 37 counts of cruelty to animals. She was released on a promise to appear in court on Nov. 1, according to police.

Police said the investigation was handled by the Wallingford Police Community Impact Unit and Wallingford Animal Control.
