Body Found In Water Off Of Waterford Coastline, Police Say

WATERFORD, CT — A body was discovered in Long Island Sound off the coastline of Waterford around 1 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

Emergency crews responded and found a deceased person in the water. The ID of the deceased has not yet been released. The cause of death is under investigation.

Police said they are working with the New London State's Attorney's Office in coordination with the Connecticut Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the circumstances surrounding the death, police said.
