Fight Breaks Out At Waterford Middle School Youth Basketball Game
Three adult Middletown residents face charges in connection with the Sunday altercation, according to police.
WATERFORD, CT — Three Middletown residents were arrested Sunday after a fight erupted at a fifth grade basketball game at Clark Lane Middle School.
Police said Adam J. Lagueux, 41, Ahkeem D. Bowens, 34, and Chavez T. Sears, 47, were each charged with third-degree assault and risk of injury to a minor.
Lt. David Ferland said police responded to the school’s gymnasium around 3 p.m. Sunday on a report of a disturbance.

An investigation showed that at the end of the youth basketball game, three men, including two coaches, entered the stands to confront a spectator, according to police.
A fight ensued, and bystanders were able to separate the parties, police said. At least one man was injured and required medical attention. Multiple bystanders were also injured, including at least one juvenile, police said.

As part of their investigation, police spoke to witnesses, obtained statements and reviewed video footage.
All three men are due to appear in Superior Court on March 14.
