Planned Lockdown Taking Place at Waterford High School

The lockdown was scheduled for today, Thursday, April 28.

Waterford High School Principal Andre Hauser and the Waterford Police Department said there is no emergency at the high school today, Thursday, April 28. They released the following note to the community:

Dear WHS Parents:

Right now Waterford High School is participating in a planned lockdown drill and routine training exercise in cooperation with the Waterford Police Department and other area police K9 units. Although you may see several police cars at the high school this morning, this is a planned drill, not an emergency situation.

As part of our efforts to make sure that your children are educated in the safest environment possible, we are testing our ability to coordinate with emergency service providers and at the same time helping to ensure a safe and drug-free school environment for your children.

Thank you for your continued support of our educational mission.

Andre Hauser
