Rear Access Gate To Town Hall Will Be Limited: Waterford Police
Police said drivers are continuing to use the access gate as a cut-through to the high school, and someone was almost struck by a car there.

WATERFORD, CT — When schools reopen in Waterford after the holidays, a popular cut-through to the high school will be closed.
Police announced on Thursday that the rear gate access off Boston Post Road into Waterford Town Hall will be closed between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. when students return to school next month.
"People continue to use this as a cut through to get to Waterford High School every morning…..at very high speeds for a parking lot…putting people at risk. The report of a person almost being struck last week has caused us to make a change," Waterford police said in a Facebook post Thursday.

"We will add some cones and maybe a police officer there for the first few days as we start this, but maybe plan now for that return to school in January where you will have to use the actual roads designed to get you there safely."
The holiday recess for Waterford Public Schools begins Dec. 23. Students and staff will return to class on Jan. 2.
