Road Work And Elections—Find Out Who Comes Out on Top

1. Today will be partly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of rain, according to weather.com. It's going to be warmer, too, with a high temperature of 79 degrees and an overnight low of 70 degrees. 

2. The Waterford registrars of voters will hold a public lottery today to determine the placement of names on the municipal ballot. Candidates’ names will be drawn on T at 10:00 a.m. in the Registrars' office in Waterford Town Hall. The lottery determines the horizontal order of candidates’ names within a row on the election ballot.

5. Road construction continues to cause traffic delays and make the driving difficult on Route 85 at Lakes Pond church during the day and on the Waterford/New London line along the Post Road onto Bank Street at night. The bridge construction on Route 1 by Niantic River Road is also ongoing.
