Storm-Related Closings, Cancellations, Early Dismissals
Here's a list of storm-related closings and cancellations posted so far for Waterford, which includes the postponement of the Francis X Sweeney dedication ceremony. Check back again later because there will surely be more to come.

The following organizations have announced weather-related closings, cancellations, and early dismissals in and around Waterford. Check back for additions as the day goes on. Snow is likely to start again at 3 p.m. If you know of any event that has been postponed or canceled because of the weather, please help spread the word by posting in the comments.
- The Friendship School in Waterford is dismissing students early on Thursday.
- The Francis X. Sweeney Field House Dedication Ceremony, previously scheduled for Friday, has been moved to Saturday, January 4 at the Waterford High School Field House at 6:45 p.m. The ceremony will take place between the Waterford vs. New London girls basketball game (5:00 PM) and the Waterford vs. New London boys basketball game (7:30 PM).
- After-school activities at Waterford High School have been adjusted, but not canceled, to allow the school building to close at 4:30 p.m. There will be no pool hours tonight. No word yet about whether there will be school tomorrow.
- Waterford elementary and middle schools have cancelled all after school events and activities.
- The Waterford Community Center will close at 4 p.m. today. No events will be held at the Community Center this evening.
- Waterford Public Library is closing at 5 p.m.
- Lighthouse Voc-Ed Center in Niantic is closing at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
- Child and Family Agency of Southeastern Connecticut is closing at 3:00 p.m.
- State employees will be released from work early. Dismissals will begin at 3 p.m. and will be staggered to mitigate traffic in the Hartford area.
- The Department Of Motor Vehicles has canceled all road tests for Thursday and Friday. Anyone with a scheduled road test can call DMV to choose a new date at 800-842-8222.
