Summer Street Fire Under Investigation in Waterford

The April 15 fire was extinguished quickly but the house sustained heavy smoke damage.

At approximately 11:19 a.m. Friday, April 15, Waterford Professional Firefighters Association Local 4629 was dispatched to 18 Summer St. for a reported kitchen fire.

The 911 caller was the homeowner, the association said via Facebook.

"First unit on scene reported fire showing out of one window and a working fire was transmitted," firefighters said. "Units from all Waterford fire companies responded along with the New London FD FAST team, and L&M paramedics. The fire was quickly knocked down, but there was heavy smoke damage throughout the home."

The fire is under investigation.
