Waterford Police Release Image Of Bank Robbery Suspect

Investigators hope photo will lead to tips to catch robbers in credit union heist.

WATERFORD, CT – Police have released an image of a suspect in the Friday morning robbery of the Charter Oak Federal Credit Union.

Two men wearing dark clothing robbed the 3 Boston Post Rd. bank Jan. 10 at 9:47 a.m. The robbers then fled on foot toward nearby Beckwith Street and escaped, according to police.

Police asked the public to look closely at a mark on the suspect’s cheek, as it may help identify him.

Police indicated they have increased their presence in the area because of two recent robberies. In this latest one, an older male was forced to the ground and threatened with a knife, police said.

Investigators are asking anyone who can help identify the suspect to contact detectives at 860-442-9451 ext. 2313. The public may also use the police department’s anonymous tip line at 860-437-8080.
