Waterford Police Seize Counterfeit Cash In Bust
Three Pennsylvania residents had thousands of counterfeit dollars in their possession at a local Wal-Mart, according to police.

WATERFORD, CT — A complaint of fraudulent returns at a local Wal-Mart led to the discovery of thousands in counterfeit cash over the weekend, police said.
Police were summoned to the Wal-Mart at 155 Waterford Parkway Sunday at 1:34 p.m.
Store personnel reported that three individuals were attempting to return vacuums which had previously been fraudulently purchased at a Wal-Mart in Putnam with counterfeit money, according to police.

Police said the three suspects had five vacuums, $5,400 in counterfeit money, and $556 in legitimate U.S. currency.
Levingston Fernandez-Jimenez, 25, of 212 Alvin St., Freeland, Pennsylvania, was charged with first-degree forgery, conspiracy to commit first-degree forgery, fifth-degree larceny, and being a fugitive from justice. The latter charge was due to an unrelated warrant for Fernandez-Jimenez’s arrest out of Pennsylvania.

Cindy Jimenez, 25, of 48 South Kennedy Dr., McAdoo, Pennsylvania, and Bethy De Los Santos-Colon, 25, of 216 West Atlantic St., Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, were both charged with first-degree forgery and conspiracy to commit first-degree forgery.
All three were arraigned in Superior Court in New London on Monday.
