Woman Rescued After Car Plunges Into River In Waterford: Reports

A woman was taken to the hospital after her car was submerged in the Niantic River on Monday night, according to reports.

WATERFORD, CT — A woman was rescued after her car plunged into the Niantic River on Monday night, WFSB 3-TV reported.

The Waterford Emergency Communications Center received the call at 8:03 p.m. The woman was driving on Daniels Avenue when she lost control of her 2010 Dodge Nitro, and the car went into the river.

Crews were able to remove the person from the vehicle. The victim and a first responder were taken to the hospital, WTNH News-8 reported.
