Dog Found Alone And Freezing On New Year's Day In West Hartford: Animal Control
The town has the dog in custody and is still searching for the owner of the cute canine.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The local animal control department has a cute canine in custody who was found in the cold late on New Year's Day.
According to West Hartford Animal Control, the female dog — who appears to be a mixed breed — was found outside near Fern Street and Fernbel Lane.
A nearby good Samaritan noticed the freezing dog and took her to the town's police department.

Officials said the dog doesn't have a "chip scanner," which is a way to ID lost dogs and, as a result, the canine, as of early this week, is still in town custody.
The West Hartford Animal Control Department said it is still looking for the dog's owner and is getting the word out.

The missing dog, officials said, is not up for adoption, and they are asking the public not to inquire about her availability.
"When and if the time comes, we will let the public know," wrote the West Hartford Animal Control Department.
For now, the town is only seeking information on who the owner might be.
