New Reading School To Host Ribbon-Cutting In West Hartford
'The Book Club,' which received prior WeHa PZC approval in October, will officially open on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — A new reading school approved by the West Hartford Plan & Zoning Commission earlier this fall will officially open next week.
According to the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce, "The Book Club," located at 76 La Salle Road, West Hartford Center, will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. that day.
The school, founded by a veteran educator, aims to provide supplemental lessons to school children to enhance their reading and encourage a reading habit.

"The Book Club is a unique program designed to foster a love of reading, build strong habits of discourse, and strengthen critical comprehension skills during the foundational years for young readers," wrote The Book Club via a chamber announcement.
"Our ultimate goal is to empower our readers to meet their full potential as articulate, well-read individuals who are prepared to lead with empathy, knowledge, and a lifelong passion for learning. through a warm and inviting community, we are committed to developing the next generation of readers and leaders."

The operation was founded by longtime teacher Heather Moran and a special use permit to operate the business was approved by the PZC on Oct. 7.
