WEST HARTFORD, CT — A prominent retail building in town is up for sale, with the owner reportedly looking ahead to retirement.

According to Loopnet.com's real estate listings, 830 Farmington Ave. — home to Connecticut Home Interiors — is for sale for $2.7 million the asking price.

Hearst Media's CT Insider reports that the owners of the business are looking ahead to their retirement and are selling the building first.

The upscale furniture store, according to the company website, offers "fine quality, hand-crafted furniture, lighting, artwork, and accessories available from domestic and international suppliers."

It was found in Hartford back in 1932.

According to the real estate listing, the seller is seeking a one-year lease to operate the business at the site after the sale is complete.

Then, the new buyer of the building can subdivide for retail in what the listing claims if a hot rental market and a growing community.

The building, which is 29,568 square feet, was built in 1947, but the owners completed a renovation of the site in 2020.
