Regional Home Hazardous Waste Collection Is Saturday In West Hartford
Residents of Hartford, West Hartford, Newington, Wethersfield, Rocky Hill, East Hartford, Bloomfield, and Windsor are eligible.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — West Hartford Saturday is hosting a regional, household hazardous waste collection event for members of the Metropolitan District (MDC) water service area.
On Saturday, June 14, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the MDC will host a Household Hazardous Waste Collection at the West Hartford Public Works Garage, 17 Brixton St., West Hartford.
The event is free and open to MDC member communities, which are Hartford, West Hartford, Newington, Wethersfield, Rocky Hill, East Hartford, Bloomfield, and Windsor.
Participants are asked to collect their household waste items in their original containers, place them in a box, and bring them to the collection site on June 14.

The MDC will handle the rest. The entrance is at the end of Oakwood Avenue, just past Brixton Street. There will be ample signage. Remember to bring an ID for proof of residency.
Typical items include kitchen cleaners, garage and workshop chemicals, yard insecticides, and hobby solvents. View the complete list here.
