West Hartford firefighters quickly extinguished a small fire on the roof of the Gold Roc Diner on Wednesday morning.
No injuries were reported and the fire does not appear to be suspicious, according to Battalion Chief William Kall.
The small blaze was confined to the roof on the back of the building, Kall said. The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, which took place around 10:30 a.m.
Nannette Mullen, a waitress who was working at the diner when the fire took place, said the staff and customers evacuated the building quickly. Mullen said that a fire marshal who was in the area saw smoke billowing from the roof.
The Gold Roc Diner is located at 61 Kane St.
According to a staff member, the diner reopened around 7 p.m.
The Gold Rock is the second popular West Hartford restaurant to catch fire in recent months. In July, A.C. Petersen Farm Restaurant had a small fire. The restaurant reopened the following day.
