Obituary: Alma Coxeter Werner, 88, of West Haven

Alma, a loving and devoted mother, worked as a bookkeeper for Walter's Auto Parts.

WEST HAVEN, CT - (From West Haven Funeral Home) Alma Coxeter Werner, 88, of West Shore entered into eternal rest at her home on the evening of April 14, 2021, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of David A. Werner.

In addition to her husband, Alma is survived by her two daughters Deborah A. Werner and Patricia M. Hochhaus; two grandchildren Catherine Carnabuci and Austin Werner, whom she adored and doted on.

She was predeceased by her son David M. Werner, her brother George W. Coxeter and her parents Alma & George Coxeter .

Although she retired from Walter’s Auto Parts as a bookkeeper, Alma’s life revolved around her family.

Prior to raising her children, Alma worked for General Motors. She was a lifelong West Haven resident and loved living near the water, which she did for most of her life.

She enjoyed family vacations, get togethers with her family and friends and Rocky Beach Reunions with her large extended family.

Very involved in the activities of her three children when they were growing up, she was a WHHS band parent, PTA member and past president of the West Haven Jaycee wives.

Visitation will take place on Monday April 19 at the West Haven Funeral Home at the green from 8:30 to 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Victory Church at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Milford.
